Transmissions presents: OCEAN\'S
8 (2018)

8pm – 11pm
3 hours
1 May
Online

In May, multi-talented hurricane, creator of the infamous Kate Cobain powerpoint, and the other mind behind Transmissions, Heather Estradiol (@djungelskog_gf) is back at the reigns for a whole month of lesbian larceny, sapphic supremacy, and extreme yearning. From elaborate heists, to cyber crime, espionage, murder most foul, and devious dealings done in style, these ladies are simply up to no good. Will they get the bag and get away with it, or will love get in the way? Join us every week to find out, and celebrate a mantra many hold dear: be gay, do crime.

On opening night we screen the ultra-slick Ocean’s 8 (2018). Far from just the girlbossification of Soderbergh, it offers a certain hit that only a movie with this stacked a cast and this big a boner for bad girls could. Sexual tension and unspoken history simmer between Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett‘s characters as they lead a gang of women through a plan to steal a very expensive necklace full of diamonds from round Anne Hathaway’s neck at the MET Gala. Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, and more co-star in a sleek, sexy romp that we just can’t stop coming back to.

Not gay enough for you? Wait till you hear about Sandy’s rumoured private member’s club. Join us downstairs at Dalston Superstore for another night at the movies by and for London’s trans community.

“Somewhere out there is an eight-year-old girl lying in bed, dreaming of being a criminal. Let’s do this for her.”

Tickets available via OutSavvy: https://www.outsavvy.com/organiser/transmissions

Subtitles will be displayed throughout the film. Seating is a mixture of benches, backed chairs, bar stools, and floor space, and is first come, first served.
